Fitted Start and Kill buttons to the dash, took the console apart to fix some faults and put some wires in, and took some readings from the injector driver.
Because there is a definate risk that this car may get bashed around, the option to override the inertia switch on the fuel pump was added. An additional inertia switch will be added to the ECU cutout circuit once I've got a plug for it.
Later in the day, removed the cigar lighter socket and replaced the ashtray with a PCB slot. There is a 20 way connector on the back, will will be connected to various car systems and other aftermarket electronics - the idea is to have a flexible port for plugging in prototype boards, data loggers and computer interfaces.
One of the first boards going in here is a smartcard based data logger to track engine stats on the go.
The cubby hole under the radio now has a copper clad board fitted inside. At some point this will have LEDs and switches installed, and the labels etched into the copper - hopefully LEDs mounted behind will illuminate the text at night through the board.
While the console was in bits, a 4 way accessory socket was added (replacing the cig lighter). |
